I will tell you tried and tested things that will make your skin naturally good. First things first, you are what you eat and so is your skin. Therefore,
  1. Drink water to flush out toxins from your body. Drink warm water all day
  2. Wear sunscreen to protect skin from damage caused by sun UV
  3. Work out to sweat everyday if possible. The sweat will remove toxins from your body
  4. Consume Omega 3 fatty acid. You can either eat fish or take supplements.
  5. Apply yogurt on face before you sleep at night. Actually curd that you can make at home (like we do in India, curd has more bacteria. Yogurt found in North America is processed and is not so healthy as the home made curd[ my opinion - apologies for hurting any north american sentiments] ).
  6. Face mask: gram floor + lemon juice+ curd+ full fat milk+honey + (if you wish to add one pinch of turmeric). Make this in a paste and apply before taking shower. Don’t wash your face with soap if you apply turmeric. Also don’t wash with soap if you apply this as soap will take moisture from skin.
  7. Reduce or stop consuming sugar - it damages collagen.
  8. Take collagen powder - only if you are more than 30 years of age.
  9. Empty stomach every morning drink fenugreek seeds water (soak fenugreek seeds in water at night and drink that water in morning).
  10. Take fenugreek seeds soaked at night, crush them in morning and mix them with coconut oil. Keep this coconut oil for 1–2 weeks and then every night before you sleep clean your face with a nice face wash and apply this coconut oil with fenugreek seeds on your face while you sleep at night.
  11. Eat fruits (seasonal fruits with colors - berries if you can get. Blueberries, blackberries etc.) and nuts (peanut, walnuts and almonds).
  12. Eat beetroot. Consume “amla” also known as gooseberry. I drink amla powder with water - dry gooseberries and make powder.
  13. Wash off makeup before you sleep. Don’t use too many fragrance and other cream on your face. Put coconut oil and natural things.

My secrets to glowing skin are -
  1. Every week I apply multani-mitti (fuller’s earth) mixed with rosewater. This keeps my skin clear and fresh. I have a sensitive skin so I fear using many products.
  2. I wash my face with dove soapbar as it is the only one which suits me. I also use himalaya face wash. I avoid using hot water on my face.
  3. I apply Aloe vera gel every night before going to bed. I am using it from a long time and I can see its positive effects on my skin.
  4. I apply Lakme moisturizer on my face which acts as sunscreen also. I also need to use scrub every week for blackheads.
  5. Personally, I don't like to go to parlour for any facial or cleanups. I hate many chemicals being used on skin. They are very harmful for skin in the long run.
  6. Most importantly, apart from these usual things, I eat fruits and drink coconut water regularly which is good for overall health. I also drink fruit juices. I eat curd which is also good for skin.
  7. I drink lots of water which keeps my skin healthy.
  8. I always sleep enough.
I believe in keeping my skin healthy and glowing through natural things instead of makeup products.

Try these simple tricks at home and in a week and feel the change:
  • Water: Drink 2 glass of water and one cup of warm Lemon-Honey water in the morning. This will make your stomach clean and skin won’t get pimples.
  • Steam and Ice or Face Once a week, take steam -> follow up with Ice or apply Aloe Vera gel, let it dry and wash it with water.
  • Green Tea: Drink one cup of green tea everyday.
  • Clean Hair: Dirty hair actually affects your skin, makes it oily and worst. Wash your hair at-least twice a week and try to use clean bed-sheet and pillow.
  • Face wash and Sunscreen: Try not to change the brand frequently. I use CeraVe face wash. Apply sunscreen when you go out in sun (any season). I use Neutrogena Non-Greasy Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30.
  • Sleep: Sleep for at least 8 hours a day and stay happy.
  • Exercise: This actually makes a lot of difference.Go for any exercises and make the day worth it.

4. Ash Sab, Lives in Australia

I have managed to keep up a working skin care routine and find treatments that help keep my skin hydrated, glow and smooth. My skin is not perfect but has definitely improved. This is how I do it…

Cleansing: I wipe my makeup off with Micellar wipes and doused in Witch Hazel. I also put coconut oil on my lashes to take off mascara (which I use rarely because I have eyelash extensions most times.)

Charcoal mask - I use an Australian brand, Sukin Charcoal Cleanser to clean my skin. I also use a 100% Activated Charcoal Mask on alternate days prior to washing my face.

Toner: I wipe my face with witch hazel first using a cotton ball and then use The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Solution 7% on a cotton ball as well (usually on alternate nights)

Added moisture and plumpness, all rounder and Moisturizer

After toner: I use Hyaluronic Acid and B5 by The Ordinary, The Ordinary Buffet and topping it off is The Ordinary Moisturizing HA.
