The Best Self-Tanning Product?

We asked a few people how to The Best Self-Tanning Product? and this is their answer.

1. Cassidy Dutile, City Hall Receptionist

L'Oreal Sublime Glow (airbrush can) is amazing. Goes on natural and hard to mess up. You can easily reach all areas. Recommend doing a light mist everyday until you've reached your desired color. Then continue spraying 1-2 days a week to maintain it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I used to spend lots of money on airbrush tanning and now get the same result at home in my bathroom for a fraction of the cost. You definitely need to exfoliate and do a little bit at a time. Hope that helps.

I would choose one that matches your skin tone. So if your skin tends to burn and not brown in the sun naturally, then go for something that is suitable for pale skin tones and probably nothing with more than 6% DHA in the product. If you tan lightly naturally you can use something like an 8/10% product and if you have olive skin tones then you can go as high as a 12% DHA product. The problem is a lot of the products on the shelf don't tell you what % DHA is in their product. Some don't even determine by Light, Medium or Dark so it can be a case of trial and error.

I would also look for one which is high in hydrating properties, one with aloe vera, jojoba seed oil etc in the ingredient list. DHA is naturally drying on the skin and so it really is important to have these elements present.

Totally dependent on your current skin tone, type of product you find easiest to apply and your budget.

In my opinion, Skinerals Californium Self Tanner Mousse has the best range across the board in sprays and mousses. Apply quickly, evenly, lightly across elbows and knees and you can't go wrong. Any dry patches should be lightly moisturised first.

Also important, scrub/exfoliate well before application and wash hands until they no longer smell like the product.

4. Ella Gadberry, MA Mathematics & Political Science

There are alot. Nowdays market has full of Self Tanning products like injections, Sprays. However , some of them are not even worth to give a try . I have been using Jergens Natural Glow since very long and I can say the affect is amazing and stunning tan could be achieved within 2–3 weeks.
